Moldovan head of state says Moldova was great European family on 21 May 2023

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has conveyed a message of gratitude to the Moldovans from the country and the Diaspora, who participated in the European Moldova Assembly on 21 May, the presidential press service has reported.  

‘’Yesterday, on 21 May 2023, we were a great European family! Yesterday, there were impressively many of us; yet, we had a single voice – the Moldovans are Europeans and Moldova must become full-fledged member of the European Union till 2030. We assembled all our people together, from all Moldova’s districts, we assembled in more than 50 cities from all over the world, we assembled and we clearly said that Moldova is European and our country’s place is among the free countries of the European Union,’’ the head of state said.       

The president stressed that, on 21 May, Moldova had been proud – the entire world saw that we are a respectable nation, we say what we want and we are firm in the decisions dealing with our country. „The European Moldova Assembly brought together people with light and faith in their souls, citizens from all corners of the world, who were singing the country’s Anthem and dancing in round dances, children and adults who were looking into the future with happiness and optimism. We will bring the European Union home together!’’ President Maia Sandu added.
