Chisinau, 23 May /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of more companies and institutions from Moldova and Italy today brought together in Chisinau, in order to discuss the newest tendencies and technologies in the roads’ and bridges’ infrastructure sector. The event titled, Bridges and streets’ infrastructure, was organized on the occasion of the Italian design day in Moldova.

The event’s main goals were to boost the Moldovan-Italian commercial and economic relations, identify new possibilities of business, establish contacts of collaboration with Italian business people and encourage investments.

Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Lorenzo Tomassoni said that the modernization of the infrastructure was a priority for Moldova. ‘’The event’s goal is for the enterprises from Moldova and those of Italy exchange experience and help Moldova construct the network of streets, improve the infrastructure, including in the perspective of integration into EU,’’ Lorenzo Tomassoni said. The ambassador noted that the getting by Moldova of the status of country candidate for accession to EU would enhance the transparency and efficiency in the spending of public money. The diplomat voiced hope that the event organized in Chisinau today was an opportunity for entrepreneurs from Moldova to establish new cooperation relations and take over the experience of companies from Italy present at the event, among which there are European and even leaders in the infrastructure field.

Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister Lilia Dabija said that Italy was known all over the world due to its performance and excellence in the design sector and roads’ infrastructure. ‘’We are here today to promote and make connections in the direct and figurative senses between Italian entrepreneurs and Moldovan ones, between the academic environment, business environment and public environment. The economic restart of Moldova is indispensable and is dealing with a developed infrastructure,’’ the minister noted.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce and industry (CCI), Sergiu Harea, said that Italy had advanced technologies, which help Moldovan companies improve the quality of the works on modernization of the infrastructure and shorten the time used in the reconstruction processes.

Bilateral meetings between Italian companies and Moldovan ones, which work in the sector, were held at the meeting, during which the concerned companies were able to establish business and partnership relations.
