Moldovan MPs attend fourth meeting of EU-Moldova high level energy dialogue

Chisinau, May 25. /MOLDPRES/- A delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova participated in the fourth meeting of the EU - Moldova High Level Energy Dialogue. Attending the event were Economy, budget and finance commission's head Radu Marian, MPs Ina Coșeru and Mariana Cușnir, Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov. EU delegation was led by European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the European officials appreciated the efforts of the Republic of Moldova to obtain energy independence. "Among the progress referred to are aspects such as: the right bank no longer consumes Russian gas, we can buy natural gas from wherever we want, we have secured strategic reserves of natural gas, we are connected to the European electricity network, etc.", Radu Marian said.

Also, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova insisted on requesting financial support from the European Union for the implementation of energy efficiency programs: subsidizing the procurement of modern household appliances and improving the energy efficiency of households, as well as grants for condominium associations.
