Prime Minister commented on information that some businesses benefit from special prices for gas consumption

Chisinau, May 29. /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Dorin Recean commented on the information according to which some companies benefit from special prices for natural gas consumption. The official pointed out that the Government is monitoring the situation and will intervene.

"The current price of natural gas is dictated by the need to compensate for price deviations, and it is not fair that this price difference is covered only by some businesses and household consumers. A decision in this sense will be taken on Wednesday by the Commission for Emergency Situations. At the same time, as I said before, the Government is looking for alternative suppliers and possibilities to reduce the cost of natural gas, and I am sure that we will have good news for all consumers in the shortest time", he said.

Recently, information appeared in the media according to which some companies would benefit from special prices for the consumption of natural gas.

Energocom announced a few days ago that, this year, it will purchase gas at more favorable prices on the market, thanks to 200 million euros provided by the Government of Norway and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. At the same time, in early May, Recean said that the authorities are working so that in a few months at the most it will be possible to reduce the tariffs for natural gas, so that "in the new season we enter with lower tariffs".
