Energy minister came up with reaction on information spread in public space

Chisinau, May 30. /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov came up with a reaction on the information spread in the public space according to which some companies benefit from special prices for the consumption of natural gas. The official said that the government has noticed the inequity in the market and requested the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) to intervene.

"All "revelations" made yesterday by Renato Usatîi are nothing but the intonation reading of the letter I sent in April to ANRE and which I am making public. The government noticed the unfairness in the market and asked ANRE to intervene. ANRE, as an independent regulator, must come up with a solution to cover tariff deviations, formed starting in 2021, to be fairly distributed among gas consumers. Tomorrow, within the Emergency Commission, we will intervene to speed up the intervention of the regulator", he said.

The Minister of Energy also published the letter he sent back in April to ANRE. He noted that more and more non-household consumers are changing their natural gas and/or electricity supplier, and as a result the burden of returning negative tariff deviations remains largely on the account of household consumers and partly on non-household consumers purchasing natural gas and/or electricity at regulated prices. He asked ANRE to approve some normative changes that would create the necessary conditions so that all final consumers are responsible for the reimbursement of financial deviations created on the gas market, including those who switch from a supplier operating at regulated prices to a supplier at unregulated prices.

Politician Renato Usatîi organized a press conference yesterday in which he announced that several companies sell natural gas to economic agents at a rate between 11 and 14 lei, while the rest of the private companies and ordinary citizens pay a rate of over 29 lei.
