Chisinau, May 31. /MOLDPRES/- Traffic restrictions will be set starting this afternoon. The head of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Viorel Cernăuțeanu, made the statement today.
The IGP leadership came up with several recommendations for citizens in the context of the restrictions set in connection with the 1 June European Political Community Summit.
"We recommend that citizens, before moving somewhere, find out about the alternative traffic routes, presented in the travel maps. It would be good for them to set off on the road only when strictly necessary, with time reserve and follow the announcements made by the police. During this period, law enforcement officers will be on duty to streamline road traffic and come up with recommendations for citizens," said Viorel Cernăuțeanu.
The IGP head said that the security measures applied for the Summit are being installed gradually and have an increased level of flexibility, so that inconveniences are minimized for citizens. "People are urged to comply with the requirements of the law enforcement, to respect the signs of the police officers, the rules in traffic, as well as to park according to the rules", said Cernăuțeanu.
The EPC summit will take place on June 1, in the town of Bulboaca, Anenii Noi district. The event will bring together around 50 European heads of state and government and European Union officials. The first official delegations have already started arriving in the Republic of Moldova.
