Moldova to receive 211 million dollars on behalf of international bank

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) will provide Moldova with a budgetary support worth 211 million dollars. The cabinet of ministers today approved a draft decision on the conclusion of the agreement on financing to this end.   

The financial means will be provided within the programme, Moldova, Measures in Emergency Situations, Resilience and Competitiveness. Development Policies Operation 2. The programme implies a budgetary support amounting to 211 million dollars in all, of which about 100 million dollars represents an IBRD loan and 111 million dollars is provided as grant

The programme contains eight sub-actions dealing with the implementation of measures as to the status of refugees and their integration into the society; management in emergency situations, including because of the flow of refugees; consolidation of the anti-poverty programme; enhancement of the energy efficiency; strengthening the capacity of deposits guarantee fund; consolidation of the state enterprises’ governance; continuing the reorganization of the railway sector and the digitalization of the services for business.    

The loan will be provided for a repayment period of 21 years, including a grace period of 3 years and a variable interest rate. Both the loan and the grant will be disbursed in a single installment, after the Moldovan parliament ratifies the agreement.
