Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - It was not easy, but I today came in order to provide Moldova with support. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made statements to this effect; he was the first head of state to come to the Mimi Castle from the Bulboaca settlement today morning, where the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC Summit) is held.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was met by President Maia Sandu. Subsequently, the two officials had a discussion, after which they made press statements.

The Ukrainian president thanked Moldova and the entire people for having provided support to the Ukrainian citizens and hosting them.  ‘’Today, we are to discuss the bilateral relations, priority and infrastructure projects. Moldova is an important partner for us. We believe in our European future. We must move together shoulder to shoulder. We need unity on behalf of our partners,’’ Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

For her part, President Maia Sandu said that Moldova was in solidarity with Ukraine. ‘’ We thank you for coming here today. Our country supports Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity, recognized internationally. We spoke about our European future and the joint projects which are to be carried out,’’ Maia Sandu said.

Moldova hosts the most important political event in its history – the EPC Summit. About 50 heads of state, prime ministers and high-ranking European officials bring together in Moldova to discuss about peace, security, energy and connectivity.
