Moldovan interior minister says EPC Summit held in normal conditions, with no incidents

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - No extraordinary incidents have been recorded so far and the Summit of the European Political Community is held in normal conditions. Interior Minister Ana Revenco today made statements to this effect during press statements.   

The official stressed that all agencies in the security and defence sector worked in coordination and synchronization. ‘’We act with anticipation; we will act in this way in the next hours and days as well. Everybody helps for this Summit to be held in conditions of maximal security and safety. We focus, in order to ensure the peace, both in communities and at the border. This is an event which involves the largest number of specialists from absolutely all national agencies and authorities; each one acts according to the perimeter of the tasks and powers clearly established based on a security plan, so that all sectors are at sight,’’ Ana Revenco said.   

At the same time, the Interior Ministry’s (MAI) leadership informed that there had been attempts of destabilization in Moldova. ‘’It is about attempts to show what happens in Moldova today through another light. All these actions were counteracted. We acted in a synchronized way. There were small groups which tried to prove in the public space their opinion on what is taking place in Bulboaca today,’’ Ana Revenco said.    

The minister specified that, in continuation, the movement restrictions would be enforced gradually, depending on the movement of the official columns. Revenco also said that, at present, no difficulties in movement were registered in Moldovan capital and the traffic was easy.
