First stage of admission to universities: About 75% of state-funded places at bachelor's degree, 83% - at master's degree filled

Chisinau, August 14 /MOLDPRES/- Higher education institutions in Moldova have announced the results of the basic admission session for the academic year 2023-2024. About 75% of the number of state-funded places were filled for the first cycle - bachelor's degree. In the case of master's studies, about 83% of the available state-funded places were filled. A total of 14,811 students were enrolled.
"Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the State University of Physical Education and Sport have fully covered the number of state-funded places after the basic admission session.
Admission statistics show that the most sought-after specialties remain Law (about 15% of the total enrolled), Economic Sciences (about 13%), Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy (7.1%), ICT - (about 11%), Engineering and engineering activities (8.3%).
This year, the Ministry of Education and Research came up with three new specialties in Engineering, ICT and Agricultural Sciences: Data Science, Digital Manufacturing Technologies, Agribusiness and Rural Development, for which around 100 young people opted. Professions of the future - Multimedia production, Game design, Animation were in high demand by candidates, both the state-funded places and those on contract basis have been filled.
For the second round of admission 2023, higher education institutions continue enrollment in both study cycles, offering 1,353 state-funded places in the first cycle - bachelor and 492 state-funded places in the second cycle - master, in several fields, including: Education Sciences, Public Administration, Chemical, Biological, Physical, Agricultural, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Security Services etc.
The number of places with the tuition fee is determined by each university individually, depending on the enrollment capacity.
