Chisinau, August 16 /MOLDPRES/- From the beginning of the year until now, more than 1.93 billion lei (96.5 million euros) have reached farmers' accounts in the form of subsidies, which is 17% more than in the same period last year.

According to the data of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), most farmers invest in the development of post-harvest and processing infrastructure, which is 18% of the value of subsidies paid, or about 200 million lei. The amount of about 213 million lei is granted for the repayment of the installment on the loans accessed, and for the procurement of agricultural machinery and equipment the state disbursed about 160 million lei.

Another 10% of the amount of subsidies paid, or 100 million lei, was directed to the revitalization of the livestock sector, and the subsidies requested for the establishment, modernization of multi-year plantations and the clearing of unproductive ones represent about 96 million lei.

Currently, out of the total of 10,864 subsidy requests submitted in 2022, AIPA has only 704 files in the examination process. Of these, 294 applications cannot be examined, as the applicants must fill out the files with additional documents.

AIPA announced that it is currently receiving applications for subsidizing the complementary measures and for the diesel excise duty. Thus, by September 30, farmers can submit requests for subsidies for diesel purchased on June 30 - September 30. Complementary subsidy measures include stimulating access to investment credits or for working capital, stimulating promotional activities, stimulating the use of irrigation systems, developing ecological agriculture, implementing good agricultural practices, clearing perennial plantations, agricultural advisory and training services, stimulating association in groups by producers.
