Moldovan PM says Moldova safe place for investments

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean and his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban, at a today’s meeting in Budapest, discussed possibilities of attracting new investments in Moldova, consolidate the cooperation in the priority sectors and the implementation of the reforms which ensure the welfare of the citizens. The prime minister of Hungary informed about the resumption of the Chisinau-Budapest flight till late next March, the government’s communication department has reported.    

PM Dorin Recean said that Moldova wanted to strengthen the cooperation relations with Hungary and to extend them in new fields of collaboration, including the economic one. ‘’ I welcomed the fact that, despite the international context from the last two years, the commercial exchanges exceeded 200 million euros. There is a good potential of development on IT, electronics, energy, agriculture, pharmaceutics and finance,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.  

The officials discussed also the big regional infrastructure and energy projects, which provide important perspectives of economic development for the two countries, such as the Three Seas Initiative and the gas transport corridor, Greece – Bulgaria – Romania – Hungary.     

Prime Minister Dorin Recean reiterated that Moldova’s goal was the European integration and that the government further relied on the support of the Hungarian chairmanship of the European Council, which will start on 1 July. ‘’I am happy to know that Hungary supports our efforts to edify Europe at home,’’ the Moldovan PM stressed.   

The prime minister of Moldova had a meeting also with representatives of more Hungarian companies, with whom he discussed investments opportunities of Moldova and the reforms implemented in the financial and legal fields, the processes of digitalization, de-bureaucratization and modernization of the infrastructure.  

Dorin Recean invited the business people of Hungary to make investments in Moldova, given that over 40 top Hungarian companies successfully work in the country. ‘’Moldova is a safe place for investments and we want to attract as much as possible capital for long term, which is to lead to the development of the business and creation of jobs,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
