Fragments of drone detected in area of Moldova's border. National Inspectorate of Border Police says fragments do not pose danger for community

Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/ - The General Inspectorate of Border Police (IGPF) informed that fragments of Shahed drone today had been detected in the area of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, nearby the Etulia settlement, southern Vulcanesti district.

„It is worth mentioning that there are no risks or dangers for the communities from the area and the authorities took all measures necessary for maintaining a climate of order, peace and public safety,’’ IGPF said.

The institution noted that the information held by the Ukrainian showed that an attack with drones had taken place against the Ismail region of Ukraine, nearby the border with Moldova, on the night of 9 to 10 February. ‘’There is suspicion that the remains of the drone detected would be one of the drones thrown down by the Ukrainian anti-air system,’’ the Border Police specified.

According to the quoted source, the access was to the region where the drone’s remains fell down was restricted and the information was quickly communicated to the competent authorities.
