Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Superior Council Prosecutors (CSP) today ruled to extend the team of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) with 54 new positions, reaching an overall number of 198 employees.
Thus, the total number of the positions of prosecutor stays unchanged (59 prosecutors) and those 54 offices are assigned for the creation of an apparatus of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, with human resources services, finances, accountancy, public procurements etc. and for the increase in the number of officers detached from other institutions, who will carry out special measures of investigations in causes of high-level corruption, for the first time in the institution’s history.
As a result of CSP’s decision, the PA’s chief prosecutor, Veronica Dragalin, will propose to the acting Prosecutor General a new regulation of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, with a new chart which shows this changed and strengthened structure.
According to the PA’s leadership, in the context of this comprehensive process of strengthening, the institution needs a new headquarters, as the current one is too small for the increased number of employees.
