Painting album dedicated to Moldovan fine artist launched at Chisinau-based museum

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - A painting album, titled, Tudor Zbârnea. Reconfigurări fluide. Pictură (Tudor Zbarnea. Fluid Reconfigurations. Painting), which has recently appeared at a Chisinau-based publishing house, was launched at the National Art Museum of Moldova today.   

Contacted by MOLDPRES, literary critic, event’s moderator Maria Pilchin said the album had 220 pages, was published in a number of 750 copies and contains about 200 colour reproductions, with a selection of works by the fine artist, carried out in diverse periods during those 35 years of work. The work represents the painter’s personality, in pictures and texts of aesthetic analysis, based on his integral artistic discourse, as well as on a string of theses, formulated by the fine artist, which will substantiate the basic aesthetic stages of his painting approach. The pictures of the works from the album are accompanied by a string of texts of aesthetic analysis of prestigious art critics and historians from Moldova and Romania.   

Tudor Zbarnea was born in the Nisporeni town, on 29 December 1955. In 1981, he finished the I.E. Repin Republican Fine Arts School from Chisinau (presently, the Al. Plamadeala Republican Fine Arts College) and in 2001 – the Arts University from Iasi, Romania, Fine Arts Faculty, painting section, class of professor Corneliu Ionescu. Zbarnea is laureate of numerous prizes, medals, trophies and other mentions awarded at various international and national art contests and saloons. In 2014, Tudor Zbarnea was awarded the National Prize of Moldova. In 2017, he was elected member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine and in 2018 – member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts from Salzburg, Austria.
