Authorities working on attractiveness of gas transport corridor Greece-Ukraine
Chisinau, Oct. 5 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Energy announced today that the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are working to increase the attractiveness of the natural gas transport corridor Greece-Ukraine.
A 100% discount will be applied for the entry and exit tariff at two of the four interconnection points (PI) (Grebenyky and Ananiev) of the natural gas transportation system in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, according to a decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations, approved on Wednesday.
The discount will be applied to system users transporting natural gas to storage depots in Ukraine on PI Căușeni - PI Grebenyky - PI Ananiev - PI Oleksiivka. A similar decision on the same points is expected to be approved in Ukraine on October 9.
Energocom used for the first time the "vertical corridor" of natural gas transport Greece-Ukraine and demonstrated its technical and economic feasibility. The most complicated part of this route concerns the multiple entry-exit points between Moldova and Ukraine, which decrease the competitiveness of the route, both from a logistical and commercial point of view. Currently, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are collaborating to further simplify this route.
