Salaries of public sector employees to be transferred through MPay service in Moldova
Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - The distribution of salary payments by the public authorities might be made through the MPay governmental service of electronic payments. The members of the parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finances today approved the report on the draft on amendment of the law on salary payment and the law on the single system of salary payments in the public sector.
At the today’s meeting, the head of the aforementioned commission, Dumitru Alaiba, said that the adoption of the amendments would boost the technical equipment of the processes of distributing the salary and social payments. ‘’In other countries, there are already only virtual banks, which provide payment services to citizens online quickly, safely and conveniently,’’ the MP noted.
Alaiba also said that the enforcement of the new model of salary payments’ distribution would help enhance the competitiveness and diversify the supply in the payment services sector.
The distribution of salaries in the payments accounts of employees by the public sector units through MPay is to be compulsory, through the Electronic Governance Agency. Presently, the Agency already distributes through MPay 23 types of social benefits, via all 11 commercial banks working in Moldova and a non-bank provider.
