Chisinau, 4 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- Research Institute for Field Crops Selecția from Bălți obtained harvests of over nine tons of wheat per hectare this year, as part of a research carried out on the experimental lots together with the Technical University of Munich (Germany).
The study included seven varieties and one hybrid, being placed in a rotation with six fields, with the application of mineral and organic fertilizers. At the same time, sprinkler irrigation was carried out in two stages: immediately after sowing and in the spring vegetation phase with the irrigation rate of 600 m3/ha in both cases.
"The highest productivity, of 9.09 t/ha, was recorded by the Meleag variety, created by ICCC "Selecția". It was followed by Kuialnik and Pisanca, which had a yield of 8.71 and 8.44 t/ha, respectively. The yields obtained from the other varieties included in the research were: Ursita - 7.94, Kometus - 7.76, Talisman - 7.58 and Akteur - 6.88 t/ha. The production of the hybrid of German origin "Hybery F1" in the conditions of the Balti steppe was 7.98 t/ha", according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA).
The aim of the research was to evaluate the behavior and productivity of different autumn wheat varieties and hybrids of native origin, from Germany, Romania and Ukraine, cultivated in accordance with technological recommendations and with the use of irrigation. The research also sought to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of the tested varieties and hybrids to be brought to the attention of producers and taken into consideration during production.
In the favorable conditions of last year, the average wheat harvest obtained by agricultural producers in our country was 4.5 t/ha, and in the conditions of 2022, the average harvest is estimated at 2.5-3.5 t/ha.
