Moldovan parliament spaker participates in activities dedicated to Victory Day, commemorating heroes dead for Motherland's Independence
Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today participated in the activities dedicated to the Victory Day and commemorating the heroes dead for the Motherland’s Independence. The event took place at the Chisinau-based Eternity Memorial Complex, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and other parliament members laid wreaths of flowers at the Eternal Fire, Stele of Moldovan Heroes, at the memorial plaques and the Grieving Mother Monument at the memorial complex.
All the people attending the event stood silent for one minute in the memory of the heroes who had died for the defence of the Motherland.
The 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War from 1941-1945 is marked today.
The parliament speaker said that 9 May was a present for all those alive and the holy duty of each of us was to preserve the memory for the heroic deeds of those who acquired the Great Victory.
”We promise to preserve their eternal memory, to protect the values for which they fought and convey them to the next generations. We should cease any manifestation of mocking attitude towards the history and holy memory of the victors. The fascism is fascism and no attempt to cover it with a new ‘’moral’’ will not be able to hide its monstrous and inhuman essence. Eternal gratitude to the heroes victors, honour and bow to the veterans,!’’ Zinaida Greceanii said.
