
Moldovan president meets Romanian head of state
Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu is on a working visit to Bucharest, at an invitation by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, the presidential press service has reported.
„I happily accepted the invitation by President Klaus Iohannis to come to Bucharest and discuss our excellent relations and the joint projects. One year has passed since our countries had a cruel and unjust war at the border, which we have condemned starting from the first day. Today, more than ever, we feel the strong support of Romania for Moldova’s citizens, for the peace, well-being and our European future,’’ the Moldovan head of state said.
President Maia Sandu thanked her Bucharest counterparts, on behalf of all Moldova’s citizens, for the prompt reaction and the generous assistance provided by Romania each time when the country found itself in difficulty and crisis situations, just as it was also with the energy blackmail Moldova has just gone through.
„In 2023, our priority is the reconstruction of the economy, continuation of the reforms and consolidation of the state’s security. Romania stays the principal sales market for the Moldovan products; yet, I know that we can be even more present on the Romanian market. We want to attract more Romanian investments in Moldova,’’ the Moldovan president said.
At the same time, the Moldovan head of state informed that the project underway would be continued. ‘’We will continue the carrying out of the joint projects on infrastructure and energy interconnection, we will extend also the projects we have in the education, cultural fields, as well as the one of the local development and environmental protection. Enjoying Romania’s support, with the support of other international partners, Moldova is prepared to move forward will all confidence,’’ Maia Sandu added.
