The Government of the Republic of Moldova

Farmers in the Republic of Moldova will no longer pay for phytosanitary certificates for export and re-export issued by the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA). The measure entered into force on 5 February 2026 and aims to simplify procedures for domestic producers by reducing the financial burden and increasing competitiveness on foreign markets.

The Government reaffirms its support for domestic producers and its commitment to continue optimizing administrative processes in order to reduce bureaucracy and encourage the development of local businesses, while ensuring compliance with national and international food safety standards.

Producers interested in obtaining a phytosanitary certificate free of charge are encouraged to contact ANSA’s territorial centers or visit the website ansa.gov.md. The phytosanitary certificate is an essential document for the export of plant products, certifying compliance with sanitary and phytosanitary standards and ensuring safety for consumers and for the environment into which they are introduced.
