Moldova, United Kingdom to collaborate to combat illegal immigration
Moldova and the United Kingdom will collaborate to combat illegal immigration. The parliament today ratified the agreement between the two states on the readmission of individuals in an illegal residence situation.
The document establishes fast and efficient procedures for identifying and safely returning individuals who do not meet the conditions for legal residence in both states.
At the same time, according to the Agreement, both Moldova and the United Kingdom commit to ensuring and guaranteeing the rights, obligations and responsibilities which come from the international law.
The agreement between the governments of Moldova and the UK on the readmission of individuals in an illegal residence situation was drawn up in Chisinau on November 20, 2024.
So far, Moldova has concluded similar agreements with six other states – Ukraine, Georgia, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, the Kingdom of Denmark and the Czech Republic.
