Over 660,000 pensioners, people with low incomes to get one-off aid of 900 lei
Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- Over 660 thousand pensioners and people with monthly incomes under 3,000 lei will get one-off allowance of 900 lei. The money will be paid in October together with the pensions. Prime Minister Ion Chicu made the statement today.
He reviewed the documents adopted by parliament last week and expressed dissatisfaction that the veteran support project had not been approved.
He noted that last week laws were also adopted to support drought-affected farmers. He said that despite the weather conditions, the internal needs of wheat, corn and sunflower consumption will be covered. "This year, 630 thousand tons of wheat were harvested, and the local consumption is 350 thousand tons. We see that around 300 thousand tons is export potential. So there is no problem at the moment of lack of wheat. And about 800 thousand tons of corn were harvested, and the annual domestic consumption is 700 thousand tons ", he said.
The official assured that the damage assessments continue for the second group of crops.
