Moldova and Romania to implement joint measures to streamline truck traffic at border
The customs and border authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania have established a set of joint operational measures to streamline truck traffic at the border. These measures aim to optimize control procedures, reduce waiting times, and increase the processing capacity for freight vehicles.
The first measure involves putting two additional control lanes into operation at Giurgiulești–Galați customs border crossing, which will expand truck processing capacity and enable more efficient management of transport flows.
At Leușeni–Albița customs border crossing, the flow of empty trucks will also be separated by directing them to a distinct traffic lane. This measure will enable the faster processing of empty trucks, prevent overlapping flows, and ensure more efficient use of the infrastructure and resources available for controlling freight transport.
Furthermore, the authorities will increase the staff involved in control activities, depending on operational needs and traffic intensity, in order to maintain an accelerated processing rate for freight vehicles.
The customs and border authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania will continue to monitor traffic developments and adjust operational measures according to the situation on the ground, in order to facilitate border crossings and ensure the continuity of trade flows.
