Romanian citizens with residence in Moldova to be able to vote two days at parliamentary elections due in Romania
Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Romanian citizens with residence in Moldova, due to participate in the parliamentary elections in Romania, will be able to vote during two days.
The Embassy of Romania in Moldova today held a news conference, during which it unveiled information on the organization of the electoral process on 6 December – the date of parliamentary polls due in Romania. Thus, 30 polling stations will be opened on the territory between the Prut and Dniester rivers for the parliamentary elections in Romania. ‘’With the support of Moldova’s authorities, the Embassy of Romania will organize 30 polling stations in Moldova,’’ Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ionita said.
At the same time, the Romanian official noted that no polling station would be organized at the headquarters of Romania’s Embassy in Chisinau. ‘’We mention for the participants in these polls that we will not organize a polling station at the headquarters of Romania’s Embassy. This polling station will be at the Gheorghe Asachi lyceum. Also, we will have a single polling station at the consular section of the Embassy on the Grigore Ureche Street, and no more, as it has been earlier,’’ Ambassador Daniel Ionita said.
The Romanian diplomacy’s representative also said that, to avoid agglomerations at the polling stations, the voting process would be held during two days. ‘’To avoid agglomeration, the voting process will be carried out during two days. We will post on the Embassy’s website, in real time, the degree of burdening of the polling stations subordinated to us. If we find out a big agglomeration at a certain polling station, we will redirect voters to the nearest polling station. It is extremely important not to leave the voting for the last day,’’ Daniel Ionita stressed.
Elections for the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate will be held in Romania on 5-6 December. The polling stations will be opened starting from 7:00 till 21:00.
