Chisinau, 7 August /MOLDPRES/- In connection with the appearance in public space of information on inappropriate use of special documents, namely the Moldovan diplomatic passports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration comes with the following specifications.

According to functional tasks, MAEIE permanently carries out the records of the special identity documents in the national passport system, in accordance with the provisions of Law No273 of 9 November 1994. In this context, following the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019, the Ministry asked the parliament (the notifications of March 29, 2019 and April 24, 2019), the State Chancellery / Government of the Republic of Moldova (the notification of April 22, 2019), the presidential institution of Moldova (24 April 2019) the return of diplomatic and service passports by beneficiaries who have lost their right to hold them, in accordance with the law.

Therefore, in order not to admit the illegal use of special identity documents, the MAEIE sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs the list of persons whose special documents were declared invalid, to be included in the information systems and databases available and to spread it through the connection channels.

The ministry draws the attention of the former beneficiaries of special documents that in the event of the presentation of the mentioned identity documents, at the crossing points of the state border of the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will withdraw the respective documents and send them to the MAEIE to be removed from the national passport system, as considered invalid.
