Electoral period for local elections starts today

Chisinau, 19 August /MOLDPRES/- Electoral campaign for the 20 October local elections starts today, according to the timetable approved by the Central Election Commission (CEC).

During this period, several actions will be taken, including informing voters and training electoral officials.

Program for implementing the activities of organization and conduct of general local elections on October 20, 2019 also provides that ballots will be printed until October 16, which will be submitted to election councils by 18 October.

The polling stations will be set up until September 14, based on the proposals of the mayors, and the electoral offices of polling stations will be set up by September 24. The program also stipulates that the documents for the registration of candidates in elections may be submitted until September 19.

On October 20, new parliamentary elections will be held in four uninominal constituencies. The inhabitants of Nisporeni district, constituency No33 (Andrei Nastase), No48 (Viorel Melnic) and No50 Western Europe (Maia Sandu) will be expected to vote.
