Campaign promoting skills of children with special needs launched in capital of Moldova

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ – In Chisinau, it was launched an awareness campaign, on Monday, 25 November, to promote the skills of children with special needs. It will last until 09 December and is held in the context of marking the International Day of Children with Disabilities, in December.

The children from social services and community centres, placement centres and day centres in the capital will participate in the actions organised in the next two weeks. According to Chisinau City Hall, the launch of the campaign aims to raise public awareness about the existence of persons with disabilities, their integration into community, socialisation, promotion of talents by involving children, young people and their families in educational – artistic activities.

"In spite of special needs they have, these children, like all other children, have special dreams, hopes and abilities, which they want to put into value. During two weeks, the beneficiaries will be involved in various educational – cultural activities, master classes, flashmobes, exhibitions of works”, is specified in a statement of the City Hall.

The International Day of Children with Disabilities is marked annually on 03 December.
