Moldovan president, Austrian Federal Chancellor discuss bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu had a meeting with Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer in Salzburg today. The Moldovan head of state thanked the Austrian official for the support provided to Moldova, including through the Austrian development Agency, the presidential press service has reported.

„The current projects underway in Moldova with the help of the Austrian state and its citizens fit our priorities: rural development, providing the residents with water and sewerage supply services, development of public services, projects in education, agriculture, environmental protection,’’ the Moldovan president said.

Also, Maia Sandu informed Chancellor Nehammer that the Chisinau governance did its utmost to fulfill the conditions of the European Commission and open the negotiations with the European Union as soon as possible.

„We rely also here on Austria’s support, in order to persuade the European community that Moldova takes seriously its commitments and that it started a process of fundamental reforms. We need every support, in order to advance on the European way – the only way which can ensure us peace and well-being,’’ the head of state added.
