Moldovan cabinet increases sum meant for maintaining public roads

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved amendments to the Programme on the distribution of the means of the road fund for the national public roads for the 2023 year. The amendments are prompted by the redistribution of the means of the road fund, depending on the needs of the Programme and the allocation of additional means.

Thus, the sum will be increased by 38.5 million lei (1.9 million euros) for the routine maintenance of roads in winter; the money is meant for supplying the stocks of antiskid material for the 2023-2024 cold season. The sum used for the routine maintenance of roads in summer time will increase by 7.7 million lei.

At the same time, the financing for the carrying out of the periodical maintenance of the road safety system will decrease by 6.8 million lei and the sum allocated for the works of repair of the regional roads will drop by 49.5 million lei.

As for the capital repairs of roads and bridges, additional means worth 24.5 million lei will be earmarked, needed for finishing the projects on capital repair of national roads, as well as of several bridges.
