Moldovan fine artist marks 65th birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - Painter, teacher in the artistic education sector Ghenadie Jalba marks his 65th birthday anniversary today.

Ghenadie Jalba was born in the Sarata Veche village, Falesti district, in 1956. He studied at the Alexandru Plamadeala Republican Fine Arts College from Chisinau during 1971-1975. In 1981, he graduated from the Painting Faculty of the Fine Arts Institute, and then - the Vasily Surikov Fine Arts Academy from Moscow.

Jalba debuted as fine artist in 1984 and during his activity he participated in over 100 exhibitions organized in Moldova and abroad.

Among the fine artist’s exhibitions staged abroad, there are the ones presented in Strasbourg, France (1987), Moscow (1998, 1999), Finland (1999), Germany (1999, 2000), Brussels (2006), Iasi, Bacau from Romania, etc.

Ghenadie Jalba’s works are found in public collections of Moldova’s National Art Museum, Fine Arts Museum from Bacau, Vasile Pogor Museum of Romanian Literature, Moldova’s History Museum, as well as in private collections from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Russia, USA, Ukraine. One of his important exhibitions was the staged at the Cotroceni Palace, Romania, in 2015.   

Ghenadie Jalba is member of the Moldovan Fine Artists Union (UAP) (1991), member of the UNESCO International Association of Art (as of 1997). During 1996-2003, he was head of the painting section of UAP.  

Starting from 2009 till 2016, he worked as head of the Fine Artists Union and in 2016-2020 – deputy head. The fine artist became Merited Man of Moldova in 2005 and in 2018 he was awarded the Cultural Merit Order, in rank of Commander, (Romania).
