
Moldova to be able to export fresh tomatoes to Israel
Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) today informed all producers of tomatoes of Moldova about the acceptance of the State of Israel to import fresh tomatoes from Moldova, according to the Plant Protection and Inspection Services of Israel.
Thus, to export fresh tomatoes to Israel, operators from Moldova must meet the following the requirements: to come from Moldova; come from a production place with physical protection against Leptinotarsa decemlineata and were officially inspected before shipment, being free from this pest (the inspection before export is according to ISPM-31, the dimension of the sample adequate for detecting a level of infection of infestation of 0.5 per cent and a level of confidence of 95 per cent).
Also, the goods carried must be free from leaves, vegetal residua, without stems.
„The consignments should be accompanied by a phyto-sanitary certificate which declares the observance of the aforementioned requirements of import and the Israeli importer should get a permit valid for this import,’’ ANSA added.
