Moldova to participate in China International Import Expo for the first time

Moldova for the first time will participate in the China International Import Expo – CIIE 2026, one of the most important international platforms dedicated to trade and imports in China. The event will take place in Shanghai on November 5-10 and, for the first time, Moldova will have its own national pavilion.

Moldova’s stand will cover an area of 132 m² and will feature representatives of more companies from the country, which will present visitors with locally produced goods and services. More specifically, visitors to the country’s stand will be able to discover Moldovan wines, fruits and other agri-food products, cosmetics, as well as learn about the country’s tourism offerings.

According to the organizers, at this year’s edition, Moldova is among the new participants in the Countries’ Pavilion, alongside Romania and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), while Canada is returning as the guest of honor.

The Investments Agency highlighted that participation in the event would allow companies of Moldova to promote their products and services on the Chinese market, establish contacts with importers, distributors and potential business partners, participate in business meetings and networking activities, analyze the requirements and trends of the Chinese market, as well as benefit from international visibility at a large-scale global exhibition.

CIIE has reached its ninth edition and will bring together more than 4,000 companies from 162 countries, regions and organizations. The total exhibition area will exceed 440,000 square meters, a record for this event. Approximately half of the 4,142 foreign companies that have announced their participation will be exhibiting for the first time, including more than 300 companies ranked in the Fortune Global 500.

The previous eight editions of the China International Import Expo brought together representatives from more than 180 countries and approximately 27,000 companies. What began as a trade exhibition has gradually become a platform that facilitates international trade, connects foreign producers with Chinese buyers and creates opportunities for companies interested in accessing China’s vast consumer market.
