Austria's president invited to visit Moldova
Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu had a meeting with Federal President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen in New York on 20 September. The officials discussed possibilities of strengthening the bilateral cooperation between Moldova and Austria, as well as the agenda of reforms Moldova had set, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state expressed gratitude for the support provided to Moldova by the Austrian side to get the status of country candidate for EU and for the assistance received through the Austrian Development Agency during years. In the end of the meeting, Maia Sandu invited President Van der Bellen to pay a visit to Moldova following the elections due in Austria in next October.
President Maia Sandu is on a two-day visit to New York, where she participated in the session on the inauguration of the discussions within the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations Organization.
