
Moldovan parliament speaker meets Ukrainian foreign affairs minister
Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today had a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba. Attending the event were Deputy Parliament Speaker Vlad Batrincea, as well as the ambassadors Ruslan Bolbocean and Marko Shevchenko, the parliament’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The speaker welcomed the presence of the delegation in the Moldovan parliament and highlighted the importance of boosting the bilateral dialogue in diverse fields: parliamentary, commercial, economic, energy, environment, humanitarian, etc.
The parliament speaker emphasized that, being two neighbour countries, Moldova and Ukraine had numerous affinities created during history, first of all, at the inter-human level.
”We must turn to good account this advantage and strengthen the good cooperation and friendship relations between our countries and peoples,’’ Zinaida Greceanii said.
At the same time, the speaker declared for boosting the inter-parliamentary collaboration, including at the level of commissions and friendship groups.
Dmytro Kuleba confirmed the need to make efforts, so that the Ukraine-Moldova interaction is not only maintained, but also fostered on all dimensions. The minister touched upon the sectors of economy, trade, tourism, infrastructure, energy, etc.
The Ukrainian diplomacy head said that the role of the legislative bodies was significant to consolidate the bilateral ties. Dmytro Kuleba conveyed a message of Ukrainian MPs’ openness for active cooperation with Moldovan lawmakers.
In conclusion, the sides expressed common interest for the open, constructive and pragmatic dialogue, which is to contribute to the advancement of all subjects of major importance on the agenda of the Moldovan-Ukrainian relations.
