Moldovan PM: Better Moldova also means better Europe for everyone
Chisinau, Oct. 17 /MOLDPRES/- 57 delegations from over 30 states, international organizations and financial institutions met today in Chisinau, within the 4th edition of the Moldova Support Platform, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The opening of the event was attended by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock, Secretary General of the Government of Romania Mircea Abrudean, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of international financial organizations, diplomats.
Recean thanked the participants for the solidarity and support offered to the Republic of Moldova through the Platform, which presents a common commitment of our country and the EU member states to democracy, development and economic growth.
“We appreciate your continued support, partnership and sincere friendship as we are committed to this transformation towards economic growth and development. A better Moldova also means a better Europe for all", Recean said.
Recean said that, thanks to the support of European partners, the Republic of Moldova has made major progress in terms of strengthening energy security, reorienting logistics chains and the export of Moldovan products to EU states, as well as in strengthening national security and defense.
"We are ready for winter with enough gas in storage and an improved infrastructure. We are exporting more to the EU, strengthening our security and defence, and continuing to increase investment in cyber security. The Republic of Moldova does not allow itself to be intimidated by the challenges launched by the Russian Federation, we are determined to go on the path of economic growth and development", he said.
In his speech, the Prime Minister talked about the sustainable development plans of the Republic of Moldova that will not only bring economic growth, but will create a stronger and safer state. Dorin Recean announced the establishment of the Infrastructure Fund and the Residential Fund for Energy Efficiency, which were presented by Ministers Victor Parlicov and Andrei Spînu. These funds will not only attract financial resources, but also bring in foreign expertise and international companies.
During the day, the participants of the event will gather in thematic working groups in areas such as: humanitarian effort, energy, the fight against corruption, border management, financial assistance, administration reform and public finance management. The event aims to mobilize the necessary aid for the Republic of Moldova in three priority directions - budget support, creation of an infrastructure fund and residential fund for energy efficiency.
Previous editions of the event were held in Berlin, Paris and Bucharest.
