
Moldovan president discussed with Chetrosu residents, local authorities of Drochia district
Chisinau, July 2 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu visited today one of the largest modernization projects of Drochia and met with several mayors and representatives of local authorities in the district, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state said the town will have a landscaped park, several playgrounds, sports fields and a running track. The project worth almost 11 million lei is financed by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development and co-financed by the city hall.
During the meeting with mayors and representatives of local authorities, the official emphasized the objective of modernization of each locality and highlighted the results of the European Village program, which has already reached 18 localities in the district. 60 million lei have been invested in 24 projects - water and sewage networks, renovation and equipping of schools and kindergartens, street lighting and other infrastructure projects.
Maia Sandu held talks with residents of Chetrosu village, Drochia. "I had a very nice meeting with people from the locality and neighboring villages. Under the European Village Program, a 14 km street lighting network was recently built in Chetrosu and the concert hall of the House of Culture was renovated. With Romania's support, renovation works have been carried out at the two kindergartens in the village. Chetrosu is a lively locality, with people who believe that European integration means more security and more possibilities for development, including for their locality", the official said.
