
CEC: Voters can apply to vote on spot (with mobile ballot box)
Chisinau, Oct 5 /MOLDPRES/- Central Electoral Commission announces that as of 7 October 2024, applications for voting at the polling station may be submitted for the republican constitutional referendum and elections for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova on 20 October 2024.
According to the electoral legislation, a voter who cannot come to the polling station for health reasons or other reasons may apply to the electoral bureau to vote with a mobile ballot box. Requests must be made in writing, starting 2 weeks before polling day and until 2.00 p.m. on the day preceding the day of voting. On polling day, applications will be approved by the polling station by 2 p.m. only upon presentation of a medical certificate.
Persons who are unable to apply to vote at the polling station may do so through a member of their family or request the social worker. If a voter is unable to sign the application to vote at the polling station in person because of a physical disability, illness or other good reason, he or she may submit the application in person or orally at the polling station. If the application cannot be submitted orally in person at the polling station, it may be submitted by telephone.
On election day, the chairman of the polling station office appoints at least two members, who travel with a mobile ballot box and the necessary voting materials to the place where the voter is present.
