Deputy Prime Minister meets Ukrainian envoy
Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov had a meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador to Moldova Paun Rohovei. The discussions focused on the European path of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, and taking over best practices in the process.
"Moldova and Ukraine aspire to a prosperous future, and the citizens of both states wish to live safely and peacefully within the large European family," Gherasimov said.
The official expressed condolences for the losses in Sumy following the recent Russian attack, and expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
Paun Rohovei emphasized that Ukraine appreciates Moldova's political-diplomatic support on the international stage, and mentioned that EU integration remains one of the priorities of Ukraine's foreign policy.
"The success of the European integration path of the Republic of Moldova aligns with Ukraine's interests, as it will contribute to regional stability, security and economic development," the diplomat stressed.
Priority topics on the cooperation agenda between the two states were discussed on Monday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. State Secretary Sergiu Mihov reiterated full solidarity with the Ukrainian people and reaffirmed the support of the Republic of Moldova for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
