Moldovan president says confident leadership to resolutely continue EU integration
Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, immediately after the launch of the negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the European Union, has said that each step made together nears the day when Moldova will become full-fledged member of the European community. The head of state offered thanks to all those who had worked and made possible the today’s event and congratulated her Ukrainian counterpart.
„Each step which we make together nears us to the day of our country’s accession to the European Union. Today, the first Brussels-Chisinau Intergovernmental Conference took place, which fixes the starting of the negotiations on more fields. I thank all those who have made possible this moment in a pretty short period of time and I am confident that we will continue as resolutely as before for Moldova to be free, European and a country where the peace is guaranteed,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The Moldovan president congratulated her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the starting of the negotiations on accession to the European Union. ‘’Together, we are united for a peaceful and prosperous future,’’ the president of Moldova said.
The negotiations on accession to the European Union with Moldova and Ukraine officially started in Luxembourg today. The event was welcomed by the European leaders, which described it as one of historical importance.
