
Chisinau, Sep 16 /MOLDPRES/- Pre-electoral mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will visit Moldova on September 16-19 to assess the election campaign and political climate in the country ahead of the presidential election and constitutional referendum.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the officials will have meetings with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Speaker Igor Grosu and Deputy Prime Minister on European Integration Cristina Gherasimov. The agenda of the visit also includes talks with President of the National Integrity Authority Lilian Chișca, President of the Audiovisual Council Liliana Vițu and members of the Central Electoral Commission.
The delegation has planned discussions with the main presidential candidates and leaders of political parties, representatives of non-governmental organizations involved in election observation and the media.
The PACE delegation, led by Thórhildur Sunna Ævarsdóttir, includes Chris Said (Malta), Valentina Grippo (Italy), Laura Castel (Spain), as well as the co-rapporteurs for the honoring of obligations and commitments by the Republic of Moldova, Pierre-Alain Fridez (Switzerland) and Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica (Latvia).
Presidential elections will be held in our country on October 20, at the same time as the constitutional referendum on our country's accession to the European Union.
