Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - The National Integrity Authority (ANI) today issued a damage inspection report on the general mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban. The mayor would have committed the infringement of the legal regime of the declaring of the wealth and personal interests.
Under the document, ANI identified a substantial difference and the holding of unjustified wealth worth 621,000 lei (about 31,000 euros) for the 2017-2019 years.
The control was carried out also on the names of Ceban’s family members. The wealth’s verification was made for the period of holding the positions of councilor in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) and MP in Moldova’s parliament (1 August 2016 -25 October 2019).
„The main debits established for the subjects of the control regard the supplying of accounts managed, payments of services in cash money, donations to a political party or political supporter, purchasing of foreign currency in US. dollars, payment of installments for the vehicle and other expenses in cash,’’ reads a press communiqué of the Authority.
If the act issued by ANI remains final, the mayor runs the risk of being deprived of his right to hold a public office, except for the elective positions, for a period of three years. ANI will submit the present file to court for consideration, in order to instruct the confiscation of the unjustified wealth. At the same time, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, has right to appeal the damage inspection report, which is not final for the moment.
