Moldovan Education Ministry says over one million new textbooks to reach schools this year
Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/ - The school libraries will be completed with 41 titles of new textbooks with an overall number of more than one million copies, in the 2024-2025 school year. Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun said that the ministry was set to supply 100 per cent of schools with new textbooks – a goal achieved.
The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) in 2024 launched a new procurement of school textbooks for 67 titles, of which 27 with translations. Publishing houses submitted the bids for 46 of them. Following the evaluation and editing, 39 titles received the notification ‘’good for printing’’ and nine titles of textbooks are in process of approval. Another 17 titles of new textbooks are under preparation. They are to be assessed and approved till the end of the 2024 year, in order to be printed and reach the schools in the second had of the academic year.
Under the legal provisions, all pupils of the I-IX forms from the education institutions of all types, no matter their form of property and legal status, are provided with school textbooks free of charge.

Over 1,200 schools work in Moldova.
