Over 1,900 social benefits established under social security agreements between Moldova and other states
Chisinau, Nov. 17 /MOLDPRES/- 1,916 social benefits for the citizens of our country have been established so far thanks to the international social security agreements concluded between Moldova and other states.
According to the data of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, so far, Moldova has concluded 17 bilateral the social security agreements with the following countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Portugal, Romania, Luxembourg, Estonia, Czech Republic, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Germany, Turkey, Belarus, Italy (to come into force), Greece, Spain (to come into force).
Under the agreements, operating on the principle of proportionality, according to which each contracting state pays the part of the pension calculated for the period of contribution to the public social insurance system made in its own territory, the entitled people can benefit from old-age pensions, disability pensions, pensions and disability allowances following work accidents or caused by occupational diseases, survivor's pensions.
Entitled persons can benefit from social insurance benefits by submitting an application, accompanied by several documents, to the National Social Insurance Office or to the relevant institution of the other contracting state.
