People willing to learn Romanian language can register for free courses organized by Moldovan Education and Research Ministry
Individuals who wish to improve their language skills or start learning Romanian from scratch can benefit from free courses offered as part of the third edition of the National Program for Studying the Romanian Language, launched by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC). Applications for registration in the Program can be submitted until February 16.
The courses will be organized from March to December 2025, both in-person and online. At the end, participants will obtain a certificate indicating their level of language proficiency in Romanian, according to the provisions of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. All expenses for organizing the courses are covered by the state budget.
In 2025, MEC plans to train approximately 6,500 people as part of the Program.
The duration of a course will be an average of 120 hours, depending on the level of language proficiency.
Those who wish to enroll in courses can do so by filling out an online form, accessible via this link: https://bit.ly/m/programlimbaromana
In case online registration is not possible, interested individuals can contact the phone number 068686004 on working days between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM for assistance in completing the application.
According to MEC, over 16,000 people have learned Romanian in the two previous editions of the Program. Last year, approximately 14 million lei were allocated from the state budget for organizing and conducting the free courses.
Last year, most applications were submitted by people living in Chișinău - 6,911, followed by UTA Gagauzia - 1,586, Bălți - 682, Tiraspol - 622. The remaining 2,971 applications were submitted by individuals from other districts of the country. Out of the total number of applicants, over 9,000 requested to study at the beginner (A1) or elementary (A2) level.
