Cîrnățeni village - model of rural development
Prime Minister Dorin Recean visited Cîrnățeni village, Căușeni district, and learned about several modernization projects carried out in the locality. It is about Grigore Grigoriu Arts High School. In 2025, the institution's courtyard was renovated and modernized with support of the European Union. Currently, the school has over 350 students and a staff of over 40 teachers, including those from the left bank of the Dniester.
The official also visited the multifunctional sports stadium in the locality, built with financial support amounting to 500 thousand lei from the Bureau for Reintegration, as well as the Cultural House, which is being renovated through the European Village 2 Program.
Andrieș kindergarten in the same locality, attended by 130 children, has been thermally insulated, and now, through the European Village Express Program, access pathways to the institution are being developed.
Another important project visited is the 300 KW photovoltaic park, implemented through the European Village 1 Program. This ensures additional revenue for the local budget by selling the produced electricity. The investment is expected to be recovered in less than a decade, and the funds obtained are directed towards community development projects.
Recean mentioned that the locality of Cîrnățeni is a beneficiary of the governmental program Europe is Near, through which local roads will be modernized, facilitating access to public services, education, and providing other economic opportunities.
"Cîrnățeni village has become over time a model of rural development. Not just because numerous projects have been accomplished, but because all of these were made possible with the involvement of the entire community: residents, citizens of diaspora, local entrepreneurs, and both central and local administration," he said.
This year, the Government of the Republic of Moldova allocated 3.2 billion lei for local infrastructure development—the largest amount ever directed in a single year for this field.
