
State to provide more funds for early detection of breast cancer
Parliament today voted in the second reading amendments to the Law on Mandatory Health Insurance Funds (FAOAM) for 2025. The document provides for an increase in the revenues and expenditures by 199.51 million lei, reaching a total of 17.59 billion lei, equivalent to 5% of GDP.
According to the document, the largest part of the revenues, namely 55.92 million lei, comes from the payment of health insurance policies paid by employees.
The additional expenditures will be directed towards several essential areas: covering the costs of emergency medical services in emergency reception units and emergency rooms, paying resident doctor personnel, as well as services of the phthisiopneumologist doctor.
Additionally, 30 million lei will be allocated for compensating medications and medical devices, and to facilitate the population's access to outpatient medical assistance, including dialysis services, an additional 6.4 million lei will be provided.
The prevention measures fund will be increased by 5 million lei, reaching 60 million lei, to support the early detection program for breast cancer.
