Status of insured person to be extended by one month for people who pay health insurance police in Moldova
Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/ - The citizens who paid the mandatory health insurance policy in fixed sum for this year will remain to be insured till 31 January 2024, by one month more than at present.
According to the director of the National Health Insurances Company (CNAM), Ion Dodon, this is one of the amendments to more normative acts which entered into force this week.
„This is a measure which will be enforced each year and which is meant to enhance the degree of residents’ confidence in the mandatory health insurances system and to facilitate the observance of the legal obligation as to the health insurance,’’ Dodon said.
At the same time, the obligation of the people who insure themselves individually to pay the insurance premium on the period established by the law, i.e. during 1 January – 31 March, stays in force.
CNAM informs that over 95,000 citizens during 1 January-30 November 2023 paid the premium in fixed sum, up by about 32,000 lei against the same period of the year before.
Among the categories of the people who are obliged to insure themselves individually till 31 March, there are the notaries, lawyers, mediators, bailiffs, judicial experts, the founders of individual enterprise, the owners of farmlands, the private people who carry out independent activities in the field of retail trade, except for the trade of goods subjected to excise duties, other citizens who are not employed and neither insured by the government.
