The Republic of Moldova is participating in EXPOVINA Zürich, the largest wine fair in Switzerland and one of the most prestigious wine events in Europe. The event takes place on the shores of Lake Zürich, at Bürkliplatz, where over 200 exhibitors from 28 countries present more than 4000 wines aboard 10 ships and a ferry transformed into tasting spaces.
Our country is represented by Gitana Winery 1953 and the company MoldoWein, which promotes Purcari Wines, bringing the authentic flavors of the Moldovan terroir to the Swiss and international public.
'The participation of the Republic of Moldova in this jubilee edition – the 70th of EXPOVINA – consolidates the country's position on the global map of quality wines. The presence of local producers at such a large-scale event demonstrates the growing recognition that Moldovan wines are enjoying for their elegance, refinement, and unique expressiveness,' estimates the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
Moldovan wines continue to assert their identity and distinct quality, strengthening Moldova's image as a country with authentic viticultural tradition and increasingly appreciated potential in international markets.
EXPOVINA annually brings together thousands of visitors – sommeliers, distributors, wine critics, and enthusiasts – offering a platform for promotion, tasting, and exchange of experience among the world's most renowned wine regions.
Founded in 1953, the fair takes place annually on the shores of Lake Zürich, in a spectacular setting – on 10 ships and a ferry anchored at Bürkliplatz, specially transformed into tasting rooms.
The event gathers exhibitors from all over the world at each edition and attracts tens of thousands of visitors – sommeliers, traders, specialized journalists, and wine lovers. EXPOVINA is renowned for its elegant and interactive atmosphere. Visitors can participate in thematic tastings, masterclasses, culinary pairing sessions, and educational events dedicated to industry professionals.
