Final stage of revaluation of pensions to take place on 01 November 2018 in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ – The reform of the pension system will be completed in autumn 2018, final stage of revaluation allowances being scheduled for 01 November 2018, for those who retired in 2014 – 31 March 2017. The statement was made by Minister of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection, Svetlana Cebotari, in an exclusive interview agency.

According to the cited source, following reform, pension system has become more equitable. "MPs, members of Government, civil servants and local elected representatives have all gone to same pension calculation formula and same way of offering. The system has been unified. Every citizen contributes monthly and every day through work done in social insurance fund," said Cebotari.

The government launched reform of pension system in 2017, following which a new calculation formula and a mechanism were applied for insuring income earned after 01 January 1999.

Following application of new calculation formula, over 130,746 pensioners and 21,264 beneficiaries of disability pensions have received higher pensions.
